So according to my training plan, today was my longest run to this point.  I know – for you runners and fit people out there, this would be your cool down, but I had to get out and run for 35 minutes today.  My goal was to finish a 5k in this time period – it should be possible… let’s see if I did.

The run felt good – I tried to push the pace a little at the beginning to see if I could stay in a higher HR zone – somewhere around 4.9-5.2.  I was proud of myself because I was able to push this paces for about the first 1.5 miles.  I then backed down my pace to a more reasonable HR zone (3.9-4.3) for the remainder of the time.  —  Yes, I am well aware that I am slow… but I am outside training – which is better than 99% of the country!  And I ran 3.12 miles without a walk break!

Actual: 35:02 run for 3.12 miles at a 11:14/mile pace
